Carl Lumholtz
Carl Sofus Lumholtz (født 1851
på Bårdseng i
Lillehammer
– død 1922 i New York)
var en oppdagelsesreisende, etnograf
og forfatter.
Han ble utdannet Cand. theol. i 1876. Lumholtz oppdaget flere nye plante-
og dyrearter og studerte indianere i Mexico
i 1890.
Han bodde på Borneo
i årene 1913-1917 og dokumenterte dyrelivet på øya og samlet verdifull
informasjon og kulturgjenstander fra Dajak-folkene.
